Jean lost her sister to domestic violence in 1998, then in 2000 her son was murdered. In 2004 her daughter went missing, she searched for her for 19 months then she was found to have been murdered.

Her murderers sentence was reduced and because of this Jean realised she had to have a voice and founded the Founder of the group Families Fighting for Justice a group that supports families who has lost a loved one through acts of violence. Jean shows tremendous courage by doing this work and helps all those that she supports and gives them strength to move forward and make some sense of what has happened.
